“6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
In light of all that your Great Shepherd has done for you, what else could we possibly have come from our lips this morning? Indeed, after everything that has been said and done, we can look into the merciful face of Christ and cry aloud with our fellow saints, “Goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.” Why? Because the Shepherd Himself is goodness and mercy. He is His benefits. We love God for who He is, what He has said, and what He has done.
Our natural response must be that we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever! Where else would we go? The Fountain of every blessing has made Himself freely available to us, His children. Why not revel in the fact that goodness and mercy are as surely with us as God and His promises are? What a great hope you and I have! Keep your eyes on the Great Shepherd, my friend. Praise Him for His benefits! Glory in His grace to a sinner like you. Choose to dwell, to stay, to meditate, to keep your mind fixed on the God of your salvation! There is no better place for your mind or your heart to stay than next to your loving Shepherd.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Dan
