“6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the LORD.”
The God of our salvation is the reason we sing and shout. It is because of His great mercies, His great love, and His great sacrifice that provides the steam to power the engine of praise that comes from our lips. While your enemies may be surrounding you and waiting for you this morning, our Great God empowers our weak necks to lift our heads above our enemies. The goal today is to avoid getting stuck in the process of lifting. How easy it is to stop halfway up and to spend more time looking at how fearsome our enemies are in comparison to our own power as opposed to keeping our eyes high and lifted up, naturally helping the head to rise higher and higher.
Choose this morning to make a joyful noise, praise the Lord for His power in your life, and exalt His holy name in the face of your failures, fears, and the fiery darts that have pierced you. God is God. What more excellent thing could you do this morning to lift your soul than to sing a simple hymn to the God who has given you such victory? I find no better way to end our time this morning than with Doxology.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Praise Him, all creatures here below!
Praise Him above ye heavenly host!
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!
Amen!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Dan
